Water Parameters
About
The Bicolor dwarf angelfish is one of the most recognizable dwarf angelfish, with a bright yellow front half and a dark‑blue rear half separated by a crisp line. A blue stripe runs across the eyes. Though popular, it can be harder to acclimate than the Flame angelfish.
Behavior & Temperament
Semi‑aggressive and initially shy. Explores crevices in live rock. May nip corals (LPS and soft). Territorial with other dwarf angelfish. Protogynous hermaphrodite.
Feeding
Omnivore with herbivorous component. Grazes algae and biofilm. Accepts spirulina, nori, marine flakes, mysis, brine shrimp and varied frozen foods.
Breeding
Oviparous. Protogynous hermaphrodite. Spawns at dusk in a harem. Breeding possible in captivity with a compatible pair.
Care Notes
Abundant live rock with crevices. Varied diet with a plant component. Quarantine recommended as it may be sensitive during acclimation. RISK to corals: may nip. Abundant hiding spots.
Compatibility
Semi-aggressive toward other dwarf angels. May nip corals in reef tanks. Compatible with peaceful to semi-aggressive fish of similar size. One specimen per small tank.
