About

Vibrant red shrimp with white spots, endemic to Sulawesi’s ancient lakes. Requires mineral‑rich, warm water.

Behavior & Temperament

Peaceful and shy. Stays near porous rocks. Feeds on biofilm and microorganisms. Should be kept in groups of six or more to feel secure.

Feeding

Omnivore - biofilm, microalgae, powder shrimp food, spirulina

Breeding

Oviparous with direct development. Females carry a few large eggs (10-15). Fry are born as miniature versions of the adults. Slow reproduction.

Care Notes

Requires water rich in specific minerals (Sulawesi remineralizer). High temperature mandatory (27-30 °C). Mature aquarium with porous rocks. Very sensitive to parameter changes.

Compatibility

Keep only with other Sulawesi shrimp and snails. Avoid any fish in the aquarium.
