Behavior & Temperament

Breeding
Oviparous. Females carry 20-40 eggs under the abdomen for 3-4 weeks. Fry remain with the mother for a few days. Reproduction is relatively easy.
Care Notes
Requires abundant hiding places (tubes, caves, driftwood). Well‑oxygenated water. May try to capture slow or sick fish. Change regularly.
Compatibility
Compatible with fast mid-water fish. Avoid slow bottom-dwelling fish and dwarf shrimp. Can coexist with snails.
