About
Elegant callichthyid catfish with a black‑and‑white striped tail (flag = flag). A relative of Corydoras but larger and more active in the water column. Social and diurnal, it is one of the most conspicuous catfish in the aquarium.
Behavior & Temperament
Peaceful, gregarious calico catfish. Swims actively in groups in the mid‑water and at the bottom. Less shy than many catfish, often visible during the day.
Feeding
Omnivore - sinking pellets, brine shrimp, bloodworms, daphnia, wafers. Actively scavenges substrate.
Breeding
Bubble nest builder at the surface (unusual behavior for catfish). Male tends the nest. Breeding possible in captivity.
