Small nerite with decorative horns on the shell and varied patterns. One of the best algae eaters that does not reproduce in freshwater.
Behavior & Temperament
Peaceful and active algae eater. Constantly scours glass and surfaces. Decorative horns on the shell. May escape the aquarium occasionally.
Feeding
Herbivore - algae (diatoms, green, brown), biofilm, spirulina wafers as supplement
Breeding
Oviparous but DOES NOT reproduce in fresh water. Deposits egg capsules on hard surfaces, but the larvae need brackish water to develop.
Care Notes
Does not turn over if it falls on its back (requires assistance). Sensitive to copper. Lid recommended. Lays white eggs on hard surfaces (infertile in freshwater).

Excellent for any community aquarium. Compatible with all peaceful fish and invertebrates.
