About
The Celestial Pearl Danio, also known as Galaxy Rasbora, caused a sensation when discovered in 2006 in Myanmar. Its dark blue body with pearly spots and red-striped fins is spectacular. Despite its small size, its beauty made it one of the most sought-after fish for nano aquariums.
Behavior & Temperament
A shy, delicate fish that prefers to stay among plants. Males exhibit mild territorial behavior toward each other, competing for females with color displays. It is not an active swimmer.
Feeding
Omnivore. Accepts micro foods: crushed micro flakes, baby brine shrimp, microworms, daphnia and frozen cyclops.
Breeding
Oviparous. Lays few eggs per day among mosses and fine plants. Reproduction is relatively easy if dense moss is present. Parents may eat the eggs.
Care Notes
Heavily planted aquarium with mosses (Java Moss, Christmas Moss). Moderate lighting. Gentle current. Avoid large or very active tankmates. Provide abundant hiding places.
Compatibility
Ideal for planted nano tanks. Compatible with small shrimp, microrasboras, and other tiny fish. Avoid larger fish that may intimidate or prey on them.
