About
The Espei Rasbora, also called Lambchop Rasbora due to the shape of its dark mark resembling a meat cut, is a smaller, slender version of the Harlequin Rasbora. Its orange coloration with a wedge-shaped mark makes it very attractive in large schools.
Behavior & Temperament
A very peaceful and delicate fish. It swims in a compact school in the middle section of the aquarium. More slender and with finer markings than the Harlequin Rasbora.
Feeding
Omnivore. Accepts micro flakes, micro pellets, baby brine shrimp, daphnia and crushed frozen foods.
Breeding
Oviparous. Spawns under broad‑leaved plant foliage. Breeding is difficult, requiring extremely soft, acidic water (pH 5.5-6.0).
Care Notes
Soft, acidic water. Planted aquarium with moderate lighting. They prefer driftwood and dry leaves that release tannins. Nano tanks with gentle filtration.
Compatibility
Ideal for nano and community tanks with very small fish. Compatible with micro rasboras, small tetras, shrimp, and dwarf corydoras.
