Behavior & Temperament
Extremely peaceful and shy fish. Swims in a tight school in the midwater column. Ideal for planted community aquariums.
Feeding
Omnivore. Accepts flakes, micro pellets, brine shrimp, daphnia and small frozen foods.
Breeding
Oviparous. Spawns on the undersides of broad leaves such as Cryptocoryne. Breeding is difficult in captivity, requiring very soft, acidic water.
Care Notes
Prefers soft, slightly acidic water. Planted aquarium with shaded areas. Moderate lighting. Avoid strong current.
Compatibility
Excellent for peaceful community tanks. Compatible with tetras, corydoras, otos, and other small, calm fish. Avoid large or aggressive fish.
