About
Silvery-green gourami with an iridescent moonlike glow that gives it its name. Elegant body with very small scales. Long orange filamentous ventral fins. Subtle and refined beauty.
Behavior & Temperament
Peaceful and shy gourami. Males can be slightly territorial during breeding. One of the calmest gouramis available in the hobby.
Feeding
Omnivore - flakes, pellets, brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms, vegetables. Accepts varied foods well.
Breeding
Bubble‑nest builder. Male incorporates plant fragments into the nest. He tends the eggs diligently. Reproduction is relatively easy.
Care Notes
Well-planted tank with floating vegetation. Subdued lighting to accentuate the shine. Gentle current. Surface access for breathing. Slightly higher temperature than other gouramis.
Compatibility
Very peaceful. Ideal with tetras, rasboras, corydoras, Otocinclus and other calm fish. Avoid aggressive companions that could intimidate it.
